COMMERCIAL 2: TIPS FOR PARENTS
Teacher and parents should work hand in hand...
There are different kinds and types of parents. And there are also different kinds and types teacher. And each kid is also unique.
From this fact, many problems arise.
What should we do?
Some parents are really sensitive and over-protective. Some parents are just so busy that they don't even have time for their kid.
Sometimes, they expect too much to their kid and others are clueless, at all.
Some parents box education and education student and so, teacher are also boxed to their expectations. The student is the one suffering.
Some parents dgive too much freedom rooted on their trust to the teacher where the teacher gets bored. Most of busy parents who have no time for their kids are really the "teacher's enemy".
Here are my tips to balance this problems:
1. Make a "memorandum of understanding".
First of all, even before the teaching session starts, the teacher and the parents must talk regarding expectations and things that about the kid- for the teacher to know the student.
2. Discuss who the kid is.
It's important for the teacher to know who the kid is inside the home. During this stage, the teacher must also prepare guide questions to the parents that would help him know the student more.
3. Parent must introduce the teacher to the student.
Respect of the teachers to the parents are very important. And this will be established on the first day when the parents introduce the teacher. In this stage, the parents must make the teacher feel she's worthy to be trusted. Trust and respect are important.
4. Set rules and regulations.
Parent should set rules on the tutorial session so as to make everything clear to the student and to the teacher
5. Find a right place for teaching.
There must be a place where teaching session is to be regularly done. Unless, the teacher is creative enough to make every place not disturbing.
